What is the Floating ring with air lifter?

Many fish exhibit natural behavior, eating their own eggs or fry. It’s also common for Loricariidae/L-numbers to throw their eggs out of their breeding cave. The floating breeding ring with airlifter offers a solution.
This ring is specially designed for separating and rearing eggs or fry from their parents or other fish in the aquarium. The major advantage is that the fry, larvae, or eggs can remain in the same water as the parents, eliminating fluctuating water parameters or temperature fluctuations. This significantly increases their survival rate. Moreover, the ring makes targeted feeding much easier and more efficient.

The breeding ring operates using an air lifter system. Air is used to draw water from the aquarium upwards through an air lifter and sponge filter into the ring. This guarantees a constant supply of filtered, fresh, oxygen-rich water. The floating ring also features an overflow protection. The flow can be adjusted with the air valve to perfectly match the delicate eggs or fry.

Materials and production:

The breeding ring consists of a plexiglass tube, a floating ring, an air lifter with a sponge filter, and a fine mesh at the bottom. The mesh used has a super-fine mesh size of 153 mµ, ensuring that even newly hatched Artemia nauplii remain inside the ring and don’t disappear through the mesh into the main aquarium.
As with the air lifters, all components, including the mesh, are attached only with mechanical clamps or plastic clip-on rings. The breeding rings are not glued and do not contain any harmful adhesives.
The mesh can always be exchanged and replaced with a new one or one with a larger mesh size.
