Description

Manaus Bilocil Sensitive is a highly effective yet gentle aquarium medicine specially developed for the successful control of skin flukes (Gyrodactylus), gill flukes (Dactylogyrus) and tapeworms (Cestodes).
This product is the ideal choice for the treatment of sensitive fish, such as L-numbers (Loricariidae), Corydoras and very young fish.

Bilocil Sensitive is the most suitable product for use in a community aquarium with various fish species. A significant advantage is that the medication is well tolerated by all shrimp. Unlike some other products, Bilocil Sensitive will not discolor or cloud the aquarium water.

The main advantages of Manaus Bilocil Sensitive:

  it effectively combats infection caused by Monogenea (such as gill flukes (Dactylogyrus) and skin flukes (Gyrodactylus)), as well as Trematodes and Cestodes (tapeworms) in the intestines.

  it is specially developed for and is excellently tolerated by sensitive fish species, such as armored catfish (Loricariidae and Corydoras), and young breeding fish.

  the medicine is characterized by a very rapid therapeutic effect, quickly ridding the fish of parasites.

  Bilocil Sensitive doesn’t contain polymeric solvents, so it doesn’t cause discoloration or cloudiness (bacterial bloom) in aquarium water.
• Contains two powerful active ingredients:
  the combination of Praziquantel and Rafoxanide (and Methyl Blue) makes it highly effective against a broad spectrum of worms and parasites.

Signs and symptoms of worms:

Indications of an infection with parasites such as skin- or gill flukes include:

• Rubbing and scraping:
  the fish rubs or scrapes against objects or the aquarium floor.
• Altered breathing pattern (Gill flukes):
  the fish breathes unilaterally (only one gill cover moves).
• Spitting of the mouth:
  makes puckering movements with its mouth, similar to yawning.
• No or reduced appetite:
  the affected fish generally stop eating.
• Weight loss:
  the fish loses weight even though it may still be eating.
• Clamped fins:
  the fins are held close to the body.
• Frightened behavior:
  skittish and less active than normal.
• Mass mortality in young fish:
  this is a particular risk with an infection by Monogenea (skin and gill flukes).

When recognizing the above symptoms, it is important to treat the fish quickly to prevent further weakening of the animals by the parasites. If possible, confirm the diagnosis with the aid of microscopic examination.

Dosage and use

Standard dosage:

• For gill flukes (Dactylogyrus sp.) and intestinal worms such as tapeworms and flukes (Cestodes and digene trematodes), the following dosage applies:
  1^st day: water change 50% before starting the treatment, 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
  3rd day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
  5th day: 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
  After 7 days the treatment is complete, big water change of minimum 50%. It is not necessary to do water changes between treatment days.

• For skin worms (Gyrodactylus sp.) a single treatment with Bilocil Sensitive is sufficient. In this case you should dose as follows:
  1st day: water change 50% before starting the treatment, 1 ml per 20 liters of aquarium water.
  A water change may take place from the 2nd day after the treatment.

Important:

• During the treatment, the aquarium filter must remain switched on.
• The water temperature should not exceed 29 °C.
• Calculate the exact volume of your aquarium (water only).
• Dispense the correct amount using the measuring cap provided.
• Do not overdose!
• Bilocil Sensitive should not be used in combination with other medicines.
• Remove activated carbon or nitrate resin from the filter during the treatment, as these can affect the effectiveness of the medication.
• Ensure sufficient aeration of the aquarium during the treatment.
• Ensure good water flow so that the medicine can be optimally distributed in the aquarium.
• The water quality must be good before using this product. It is advisable to change 20 – 25% of the water every week and to regularly vacuum the bottom.

After 2 – 3 days of starting the treatment, a progressive recovery occurs. For the success of the treatment, it is then important that the animals resume their food intake, so that the gastrointestinal tract of the sick fish becomes active again.
By including food in the treatment water, the medicines reach the pathogens even better.
The symptoms may disappear in the days after the end of the treatment. If the treatment has not helped sufficiently, the treatment can be repeated after a break of one week in persistent cases.

In exceptional cases, water clouding occurs during treatment due to bacterial growth and associated oxygen deficiency. In that case, the treatment must be interrupted with a large water change of 80%.

Composition/ingredients:

Rafoxanide; N-[3-chloro-4-(4-chlorophenoxy)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-3,5-diiodobenzamide: 0,08 mg per 1 ml solution.
Praziquantel; (RS)-2-(Cyclohexylcarbonyl)-2,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-1H-pyrazino[2,1-a]isoquinolin-4-one: 55 mg per 1 ml solution.
Methyl Blue; 3,7-Bis(dimethylamino)phenothiazinylium chloride: 0,025 mg per 1 ml solution.

Storage instructions

Store Manaus Bilocil Sensitive frost-free and in a cool, dark and dry place in the original packaging. It is possible to use opened bottles until they are empty (but not after the expiration date).
