What is a Stacking plate?

Stacking plates are used as a stacking plate for the breeding caves for plecos, catfishes, shrimps and crayfish. In addition, they also offer more shelter for eggs and babies between the breeding caves.
Stacking plates can be manufactured out of different materials and can have different shapes and sizes, depending on the animals needs in shelter and breeding.

Material and manufacturing

All our stacking plates are handmade products, manufactured from fired clay (1090 °C). Therefore small differences in size and appearance are possible. Of course it is taken care that the outside measurements and the entrance diameter fit the ordered product.
Due to the nature of the material, the surface of the plate is slightly rough, which benefits the adhesive characteristics of most fish hiding places and next to that it also hold the caves on their place because of the rougher surface.
Because it is made out of the same material as the breeding caves it look like it is one object.

• 7 x 12-13 cm for 3 breeding caves (2 under, 1 on top)
• 13 x 12-13 cm for 5 breeding caves (3 under, 2 on top)
• 19 x 12-13 cm for 7 breeding caves (4 under, 3 on top)
• 25 x 12-13 cm for 9 breeding caves (5 under, 4 on top)

In addition, it is also possible to order other sizes or color of the breeding cave round. Even special caves, other than the standard measurements is possible.
